The problem with network registration. RG500Q-EA

Hello.

I have AW1000 router with RG500Q-EA modem.
I can’t connect it to cell provider.

I tried 2 different sims (for different providers). 2 different protocols, results are the same:

Have you set the APN correctly? AT command to read: AT+CGDCONT?

thx for your reply.

yes, double and triple checked it.

AT+CGDCONT?:

AT+CGDCONT?

my provider talked - the problem is on my side.

Who is your provider?

Did they confirm that “internet” is the correct APN for this SIM?

You’re set up to use IPV4 on context 1 (the data context). Is that correct, or should it be IPV4V6?

Yes, APN is “internet”, and I tried with IP4 and IP6 already.

I don’t know of any issues with MegaFon as a provider.

Have you tried ECM mode or MBIM mode instead of QMI mode?

I see from your logs that you’re using ROOter. You can change under: Modem > Miscellaneous > Modem Protocol

Yes, I have tried all 3 modes.

I have the same model of router with the same firmware in other location (Israel) and in works perfect.

Is there any method to reset modem? Or downgrade its firmware?

This command is not for routine use - don’t overuse it.

That’s not one I can answer.

Network registration is such a basic function I doubt its failure is due to modem firmware.

Suspicion should now move to other things.

Does the SIM work in another device?

Does another working SIM work with this modem?

Is the main antenna connected correctly?

What do these AT commands return:

Dear @Baziran
Where are you? MegaFon is a Russian operator, right?

Hello.
Yes. That’s right.

It seems that your modem cannot read the SIM, making network registration impossible.

Error 23 is: “memory failure”.

What does the AT command AT+CPIN? return?

No. It’s a failed attempt to get location coordinates from GPS satellites.

You’ve supplied enough of the system log to see that you have got an unexplained network registration failure.

Can you supply the AT commands log also please, to see if there’s a clue in it?

Either from the shell prompt or from System > Web Console please run the shell command:

cat /tmp/atlog

This should be done at around the time the network registration failure happens. Please post the result.

Im having exact same issue. with same hardware. following is my at command log as requested. any help is greatly appreciated.

You do have network registration. If you’re having a problem with a data connection, it’s not network registration that’s the issue.
