LG290p: Request for firmware v06

I tried the A03S firmware but same result.

Initially, it was working and it was showing the A01S firmware.

After my attempted firmware upgrade, it does not produce any output, nor does it respond to any commands. The only thing that seems to “work” is the firmware update.

With the QGNSS 2.3, it tells me to Handshake (press the module reset button); I press the button but then I get “Hand Shake Timeout”. This happens now and happened the first time I tried (with the old firmware). I am on Windows 11, 460800, CH340 drivers are working.

In QGNSS 2.3, it says at the bottom “Module: GHA20P-SSI”, and it the firmware update progress it also shows “name: GHA20P-SSI”. The chip doesn’t say engineering sample on it, but I think it must be not a proper LG290P chip. I ordered another one from Mozihao shop on Taobao (rather than AliExpress), so hopefully that will work better.

Thanks for your help!

Yea,if A01S it is a eng. sample and I have LG290P03AANR01A01SV01.zip (2.9 MB) given by mozihao, but on board the earlier fw was already A02S.

The taobao choice is good if refers to the official mozihao shop…
But do not miss the opportunity for choose sparkfun breakout board, even more expensive, there is impeccable assistance.

Hi @bamarcant and everyone else, Sparkfun released its new firmware and I managed to run some tests.
I tested it with all the constellations and got varied results with precisions of less than 5 cm and accuracy up to 40 cm and a bit.
Then I switched to GPS and Galileo and it seems to improve.
After 15 minutes of convergence, I’m below 20 cm and mostly below 10 cm in accuracy when compared to a fixed point with coordinates from PPP Canada.

These coordinates are current epoch and seem to be closer than the epoch-corrected 2020.0 coordinates.

In short, it seems to work quite well in open skies.
On one occasion, I removed the equipment from the fixed point and walked randomly about 10 m in all directions, and I was able to use the stakeout function on my controller, which took me back to my fixed position with an accuracy of between 8 cm and 15 cm. My backyard isn’t a good testing ground, so I’ll try working outdoors.
We’ll stay in touch.
Regards, Angel
