I have enabled 16khz mode for the module with AT+QDAI=3,0,0,5,0,1,1 and it works fine. I am using UAC mode so i can see the sound card on my windows and linux machines both.
However the sound card is initialized with 8000 16bit options only. Why is 16khz option not available. I am already on the latest EG25 firmware.
Could a request or this issue be escalated to quectel technincal department?
Currently the only advantage Simcom has over Quectel in voice call modules is that it supports 16khz sample rate.
I think you can upgrade the firmware to the lastest.
If it still not support please create a e-service ticket to Quectel.

I tried solving this, too, but after being switched from one agent to the other, until they finally forgot about me completely, I ended up buying one of the SIM7600 variants, also mPCIe.
I can’t imagine why someone would intentionally degrade audio… It wasn’t just the sample rate, it sounded terrible.
