Carrier aggregation not getting all bands RM520N-GL

Hello mates

I am currently on firmware RM520NGLAAR01A08M4G_01.200.01.200 and upgraded from RM520NGLAAR01A07M4G_01.200.01.200. In both firmware, my CA was as below:
at+qcainfo
+QCAINFO: “PCC”,1548,100,“LTE BAND 3”,1,457,-73,-12,-42,9
+QCAINFO: “SCC”,2850,100,“LTE BAND 7”,1,457,-78,-9,-58,10,0,-,-
+QCAINFO: “SCC”,643320,12,“NR5G BAND 78”,145

I am living in area that my Netgear M5 shows 3CA aggregation with same sim card and in the same cell. This is reducing download speed as my Netgear gets around 500 Mbps while the RM520-GL is around 350Mbps.

How I can activate the other 2 LTE bands in my CA list? Please see attached snapshot from Netgear M5.

Cheers

Take a look here: What CA combinations supported on RM520N and RM520F?
There is always a possibility that particular combo is not supported by the modem.

yeah I have this excel already downloaded, but couldn’t find bands values and what I should set in GW values like Netgear.
for example in netgear:

  1. AT!BAND=00,“All”,2000004C00000,3A0080800D5,0,A008080000,3000,0

  2. AT!BAND=01,“WCDMA All”,2000004C00000,0,0,0,0,0

  3. AT!BAND=02,“LTE All”,0,3A0080800D5,0,0,0

  4. AT!BAND=03,“LTE and NR5G”,0,3A0080800D5,0,A008080000,3000,0

Typically all the bands should be available/selected after the fw upgrade.
You can check with

AT+QNWPREFCFG="lte_band"
AT+QNWPREFCFG="nsa_nr5g_band"

yes they are all,and i checked already, but why CA+3 is not happening as what I have on netgear m5? tower supports it

My understanding that 8-7-3-1_n78 combo used by Netgear is not supported by RM520.

Dear @silvia

May you please confirm what @jfrog commented above? I am checking your excel file but couldn’t find the same in LTE_bands as well.

This is what I find in excel file:
CA_3C-7A-8A 4 3A, 7A, 8A 3C 3C-7A V1.0

I guess you have 3A, not 3C. Google for CA bandwidth class.

Dear @meloserj
I had share the latest document to you, RM520N-GL supports 3A-7A_n78, please confirm your antenna and network signal quality firstly.
Did you design PCB board? Or only insert our module in other router?

Dear @silvia can you please share the RM530N-GL xlsx file with its carrier aggregation features please?

Dear @silvia
I again went through xls file carefully and my assumption is there is no DL 4x4 MIMO on 1A-3A-7A+n78A :frowning:
Please correct me if I am wrong
The board is development PCB and I am connected it to my Pi 4B
Cheers

Dear @meloserj
RM520N-GL doesn’t support 1A-3A-7A+n78A.

Dear @Josh
I have sent the document via Message, please check.

Dear @silvia
Will it support in the future firmware?
Or it’s hardware limitation?
What series of RM5xx can do the above CA?

Dear @meloserj
It is hardware limitation.
You can check RM520N-EU, the ENDC document which I sent to you include this module, you can check detailed combinations.

Dear @silvia

I am going to order the module RM520NEUDA-M20-SGASA from Aliexpress. Is this the correct product code?

Dear @silvia

My CA issue resolved by RM520N-EU module.

AT+QCAINFO

+QCAINFO: “SCC”,100,100,“LTE BAND 1”,1,457,-86,-14,-60,6,0,-,-

Thanks a lot

Hi silvia,

can you please share the CA-ENDC document that include RM520N-EU?

I have the RM520N-GL at the moment but I’m thinking about switching to a RM520N-EU because CA and ENDC combos are not optimal for use in Europe.

Thanks.

Hi.

I need also RM520N-EU ENDC document and AT-manual if these are available.
Can @silvia share these documents?
