2 LC29HEA moving base rover

Dear Quectel Support Team,

I am currently working with a pair of LC29HEA modules to set up a Moving Base and Rover configuration for a dual-antenna GPS compass (attitude/heading) system.

The modules are connected via USB (Port 3) to a host controller. I am using the standard baud rate of 460800 bps.

Current Firmware Details (from $PQTMVERNO):

- Module 1 (Moving Base): [LC29HEANR11A03S_RSA]

- Module 2 (Rover): [LC29HEANR11A04S_RSA]

Problem Statement:

Even after configuring Port 3 to mixed mode ($PQTMCFGPORT,W,3,3,3) and enabling RTCM messages (via $PAIR and $PQTM), the Moving Base does not output any RTCM preambles (0xD3) via USB,

and the Rover port yields 0 counts of $PQTMTAR. Rover module remain locked at NMEA Fix Quality 1 while moving base reaches Fix Quality 5 but doesn’t output any RTCM preambles.

It seems the current firmware prevents RTCM streaming from starting over the USB port before a high-precision position is calculated, or the port routing fails in the RSA release.

Requests:

1. Could you please provide the latest firmware updates for the LC29HEA modules that fully support and unblock RTCM3 output via USB (Port 3) under a Moving Base setup?

2. Please include the latest QFlash download tool and the corresponding flash configuration guide for these modules.

3. If a special firmware branch (such as a CSA version) is required to access full precision data and output control via USB, please provide that version.

Thank you very much for your time and technical assistance.

Best regards

Hi @B_J I have sent the latest FW version to your email including link to download QGNSS tool. Please do let me know if you have received the FW package. Best regard.

Thank you very much for the quick response, will test as soon as i have time.

Hey Mohamad, i did receive everthing you send but have a new problem. For the firmware update i need to press the reset button which doesnt exist on my gnss board. What is the exact procedureto do a firmware update for this module?

Thanks in advance for your support!

Here: Firmware Request: LC29HEA Adjustable Update Rate for Ardupilot Utilization - #6 by bamarcant
and for moving_baseline here
need to pair baudrate (the same) on uart 1 and uart2

LC29H has only uart1 connected on this Mozihao board…

Thank you very much, flashing the new firmware worden like a charme. Will test the moving base tomorrow.

Hi @B_J in your case, you can use a jumper then connect with RST and GND pin as show as below picture:

Take note that you will only need to connect these 2 pins for at least 100ms. Then you will need to release or remove the jumper. The firmware update should be able to continue as usual.

Let me know if have any issue after try this one out. Best regards,

@mohamad.firdaus …does not work due to the jumpers position.
To enable the ttl pins must switch the position and flash with a ttl to usb connector , because the usb is disabled.
