Subject : Inquiry Regarding DTMF Support on 7Semi EC200U-CN LTE 4G Module

Dear Support Team,

I am currently working on an IVR technology project and am using the 7Semi EC200U-CN LTE 4G GPS GNSS Mini Industrial Modem. I intend to use DTMF (Dual-Tone Multi-Frequency) signals for user recognition and input handling.

I would like to know:

  1. Does the EC200U-CN module natively support DTMF detection and processing?
  2. If supported, what are the AT commands or configurations required to enable and use DTMF functionality?
  3. If not natively supported, is there any recommended external hardware or workaround to achieve this functionality with the module?

I would appreciate any documentation or guidance you can provide on implementing DTMF with this module.

Looking forward to your response.

Hello, I have this modem:

Quectel EC20 and I would like to ask some questions:

  1. Do I need to connect all 3 antennas for internet connection?
  2. What kind of antenna should I purchase for using LTE on my laptop?
    • I never used this kind of connector, and Wifi antenna does not fit into Quectel
    • do I need LTE specific antenna or can I just use some simple wire with connector? what length is okay?
  3. I have NVMe M.2 Key M slots and an adapter for modem with USB cable for internal connection - but no USB slots in laptop - can I use this modem without connecting USB cable, only via PCIe? Modem is not displayed in lspci command, only via lsusb when USB cable is connected. Does it support adapters without USB?

Hi @Mandar_Ghali ,
The EC200U module supports this function. I have sent the relevant documents to your email, please check.

Hello, I am a 5G wireless engineer. I have purchased a RG255C module. I need to obtain the CP log for redcap signaling analysis. I need to know if there is an interface to obtain the binary data stream of the CP log at the lower level of the system.

But the log can only be opened with Qualcomm Software.
The USB interface 0 is for us to catch the modem log.

That’s fine.By the way, is there any relevant command to count the upstream and downstream Ibler values?

I didn’t see it. Maybe we need to check the QXDM log.

I would appreciate feedback on a potential issue that I need to address with a customer that will be deploying a modem with the EC25-AFXD. I will provide general information for now so if specific details are required, I will consider what I can share.

I’ve reviewed what the customer provided as a base modem configuration that includes a non-standard APN - or at least one that the carrier’s technical support is not familiar with.

I have confirmed that the customer has provisioned/activated ICCIDs with their carrier as open Internet and a dynamic public IP range. It is 4G only. Apparently, their typical channel contacts for these activations are unable to confirm the usage of any APN other than what is posted in a knowledge base. They will state this is not their area of expertise.

There is no reason to believe that a non-standard APN was provided to this customer in the beginning and there does not appear to have been a plan for a private APN/network to be provisioned by the carrier.

The challenge faced is that their configuration was deployed as a pilot and there were no identified issues. All network connectivity testing passed, and the customer did not observe any issues with their applications. It’s unclear if there was ever need for this customer to reengage the carrier’s support for any concerns.

I am concerned there could be risk with a deployment if the configured APN is not corrected. I’m not sure I can even imagine what could go awry and potentially contribute to an outage. However, to present an argument will require an adequate explanation of potential risk beyond just pointing out the obvious expected and correct APN in a carrier’s knowledge base document. Afterall, the customer tested and saw no problem. As a third-party in this the customer’s their expectation was not necessarily that a configuration review or critique would result.

I hope my dilemna can be appreciated. Any thoughts/feedback and/or technical explanation would be very helpful.

I tried to get data on the DM port, but I didn’t get any data stream

Please send the AT+QCFG=“dbgctl”,0

Still no data output

If o maybe you can try the Quectel tool. QWinLog or QLog for Linux.
