USe BG96 as a network scanner

We currently have a product using BG96, that is being installed worldwide, using a SIM card from a global network provider. To prepare for the installation in the field, it would be interesting to have an idea of the network coverage at the site beforehand. We are adapting the board to add a small display, to make it possible for the customers or installers to survey before installing the devices using a similar device (except for the additional display and the firmware), and if necessary to adapt the location to a place with better network coverage. The SIM provided has support for CAT-M, NBIot, and GPRS, so it will be interesting that the survey covers all of them. When we have the BG96 in auto mode, it is connecting always in the previous successful mode, for example, I was forcing before mode 3 and it was connecting using LTE, then changed to mode 0 (auto), it connected a few times using LTE, then started connecting using GPRS and never connected again using LTE, unless I force it again to mode 3. Is there a recommended way to make a network survey using BG96, without forcing a connection in all different possible modes? The problem with forcing modes is that it sometimes takes a long time to connect after forcing a different mode, and it will be also difficult to restrict the number of bands used to make it quicker since this can be used worldwide, so it has to support different bands. Thanks!
