Upload Speed on the RM551e-gl is a joke

I have both rm521f-gl and the rm551e-gl (both are engineering samples) and I have extensively tested them side by side and with every other variable the same, I get 120-130 mbps upload speed on the RM521F-GL and only 40-50 mbps on the RM551E-GL. Is this another hardware limitation imposed by quectel to ensure people who bought the engineering samples go and buy the production unit once they’re out? I just can’t believe people have been reporting this issue for a year and quectel did nothing to fix the issue if it’s fixable by a software update. I think I am going to return mine…

What is your current firmware?
For engineer sample, it is not recommended to test.

@silvia I am on the latest R01A04 firmware. You’re right that I should not have bought an engineering sample but you guys don’t sell a production units either and it has been nearly two years of testing and the community are paying you to become beta testers. Instead of rewarding the people who are helping you build your products, instead we get screwed up with these bugs that make it hard to use the product to anything near its potential.

It is recommended to choose CS or MP for testing next time.

I can hit that on the RM551E-GL with R01 and R02 firmware but more consistently with R02 firmware. I am miles from the nearest tower.

I did that too but the upload speed on this model is way less than the older rm521f-gl with everything else the same. I probably have gotten a not well calibrated unit. I have sent it back and got my money back. I’m going to wait for the final release. Thanks!
