I would like to offer a suggestion that could greatly improve the experience for users, especially those working with Quectel M.2 modems.
Currently, many users face challenges when it comes to obtaining the latest firmware, tools, and necessary documents such as AT commands. Often, these users purchase modems from suppliers or sellers in the market who may not be responsive or may delay providing the necessary resources, leading to frustration and delays. While I understand that Quectel support is very busy and receives numerous inquiries, the process of requesting firmware or documents via email can take a significant amount of time (often up to two weeks or longer).
To help streamline this process, I suggest adding a dedicated section on the Quectel website or forum where users can easily access the latest firmware, tools, and related documents. This could be done by allowing users to enter the modem’s serial number, which would automatically provide them with the corresponding firmware and documentation for their specific device. Alternatively, making this information publicly available on the forum could also be a helpful solution, allowing users to quickly find and download the necessary files without having to wait for individual support responses.
This would not only reduce the number of repetitive inquiries but also alleviate the burden on both users and Quectel support teams, ultimately improving efficiency and user satisfaction.

For the archived tools and documents, Quectel’s official website has a dedicated Download Zone (https://www.quectel.com/download-zone/ )for users to visit at will. Currently, there is no dedicated section to upload the firmware link on the official website and forum. Because the firmware version is updated frequently, in order to avoid unnecessary losses or issues caused by upgrading to the wrong version, it is recommended to release it through the moderator in a targeted manner.

Im sure its will be a great improvement if Quectel agreed to upload the 
firmwares, documents and tools on thier website for each modem because right now its a big Gray area to find a right modem where there millions of website doing like this section…

1.1 firmware:
1.2 documents
1.3 tools
Each modem has own section so will be easy and this will increase the visitors and customers to your website

Yes, this will indeed increase the number of visitors. But unfortunately, in order for users to upgrade to the correct firmware, according to the company’s current rules, it is still recommended to release it after confirmation by the moderator.

For downgrades:
Just tell everybody to read the release notes where you explicitly write that the firmware cannot be downgraded
For upgrades:
Why Quectel would ever release to production a firmware that would cause losses? Every company (Xiaomi, Google, OnePlus) releases its firmware in a download section, not worrying about what the users might flash, because the firmware was tested beforehand.
Anyway, this practice of releasing firmware only by praying on the forum won’t protect users from damaging their own modems by flashing some other firmware version elsewhere. At least, the random user has the option to download it from official sources, with the appropriate documentation. Wouldn’t it be better for everybody to just read the manual / read the changelog and take their own responsibility when flashing, rather than being spoon fed by the moderators, that are constantly being hassled by “firmware request for modem xyz”?

Sounds like the suggestion part of this thread is useless. The only thing the forum needs is a firmware and tools section.
