I need a firmware package for my EG18-EA module and would like to ask for your help.
My module is the A13 hardware sub-version. I only need to change the firmware release on the same A13 hardware — I am not asking to switch the hardware sub-version (A13 → A12):
Current firmware (AT+QGMR): EG18EAPAR01A13M4G_01.300.01.300
Both are the same A13 sub-version — only the release part changes (01.300 → 01.003).
Reason: the module is installed in a MikroTik LHG LTE18 kit. On firmware 01.300.01.300 the modem cannot register on any operator in my region — it stays in limited service (servingcell reports LIMSRV with MCC 999), even though the RF signal is strong (RSRP around -73 dBm). I have tested three SIM cards from three different operators; all of them work normally in a phone, but none register through this module. An identical second MikroTik LHG LTE18 with the same A13 module running EG18EAPAR01A13M4G_01.003.01.003 registers and works perfectly in the same location with the same SIM cards. This confirms the issue is the 01.300 firmware, not the hardware, SIM, or network.
My request:
Please provide the full firmware packageEG18EAPAR01A13M4G_01.003.01.003 for the A13 sub-version (flashable via QFirehose), or
A DFOTA downgrade package for 01.300.01.300 → 01.003.01.003 on A13.
Hi there,
You cannot downgrade the FW version from 01.300.01.300 to 01.003.01.003, otherwise the module will not working normally.
May I know does your region required any IMEI registration obligation? some country needs to undergo IMEI registration to work with the network.
Another suggestion is you can try to check with the band configuration with AT+QCFG=“band” of both module and compare whether it is similar or not. If no, you can change the band configuration similar with the good module.
Subject: EG18-EA (A13, fw 01.300.01.300) — EMM attach failed on all operators, need a working firmware for EMEA/CIS region
Hello,
Thank you for the previous answers. I understand that downgrading from 01.300.01.300 to 01.003/01.002 is not possible. So instead I am asking for a newer firmware that fixes the registration problem, or the correct regional build for my area.
Problem: the module cannot attach to any LTE network in my region (Russia/CIS). It always fails at the EPS attach stage.
Diagnostics from the module:
AT+QGMR → EG18EAPAR01A13M4G_01.300.01.300
AT+CEER → +CEER: EMM attach failed
AT+QNWINFO → +QNWINFO: No Service
AT+QCFG="band" → 0x8d0,0x1a0080800d5,0x0
Serving cell: LIMSRV, signal is strong (RSRP ≈ -73 dBm), so this is not an RF/coverage issue.
Important facts that isolate the cause:
I tested 3 SIM cards from 3 different operators — all work normally in a phone, but none can attach through this module.
A second, identical module (same EG18-EA, A13) running firmware EG18EAPAR01A13M4G_01.003.01.003 attaches and works perfectly in the same location with the same SIM cards.
The only difference between the working and non-working module is the firmware: 01.003 works, 01.300 fails with EMM attach failed.
This strongly suggests the 01.300.01.300 build is not suitable for the EMEA/CIS region and rejects the attach.
My questions / request:
Is there a newer firmware (later than 01.300.01.300) for EG18EAPAR01A13M4G that resolves this EMM attach issue? If yes, please provide the full package (flashable via QFirehose) or a DFOTA upgrade package.
If not, can you confirm which firmware build is the correct one for the EMEA / CIS (Russia) region on the A13 sub-version, and how I can obtain it?
Is 01.300.01.300 a region-locked or operator-specific build? If so, what is the proper way to get the standard EMEA build onto this A13 module?
You wrote that downgrade is not allowed only to versions released before01.200.01.200. This implies that 01.200.01.200 itself is allowed.
My question: can I flash EG18EAPAR01A13M4G_01.200.01.200 on my A13 module (currently on 01.300.01.300)? Is 01.200 the correct regional build for EMEA/CIS, and will it resolve the EMM attach failure?
If yes, please provide the full 01.200.01.200 package (QFirehose) or a DFOTA package for 01.300 → 01.200.
Also — earlier you suggested adjusting band config to match the working module. I already checked: AT+QCFG="band" returns identical 0x8d0,0x1a0080800d5,0x0 on both the working (01.003) and non-working (01.300) modules. So band config is not the cause — the only difference is the firmware release.
I have the same/similar issue with a MikroTik ATL LTE18 kit using EG18-EA A13.
Device details:
Host device: MikroTik ATL LTE18 kit
Board: ATLGM
RouterOS: 7.19.6
Modem model: EG18-EA
Modem revision: EG18EAPAR01A13M4G
Current modem firmware: EG18EAPAR01A13M4G_01.300.01.300
Country/operator: Russia, MCC 250, MTS SIM
The SIM is detected and ready:
AT+CPIN? → READY
IMSI/UICC are visible in RouterOS
But the modem cannot register on the LTE network:
/interface lte monitor lte1 once → status: denied
AT+QNWINFO → No Service
AT+CEREG? → 2,4
AT+CGATT? → 0
AT+QENG=“servingcell” → LIMSRV
AT+QCFG=“band” → 0x8d0,0x1a0080800d5,0x0
The modem can see Russian cells and signal is good, but it stays in limited service and cannot attach. APN is configured correctly for MTS (internet.mts.ru, user mts, password mts, PAP), but the failure happens before PDP/APN because LTE registration itself is denied.
We also checked the MikroTik modem firmware upgrade index for this exact modem/firmware. For MCC 250 it returns:
250;;EG18EAPAR01A13M4G_01.300.01.300;This firmware version is not supported in current region
In this thread, Quectel support confirmed that flashing from:
EG18EAPAR01A13M4G_01.300.01.300
to:
EG18EAPAR01A13M4G_01.200.01.200
is permissible.
Could you please provide the official full firmware package or DFOTA package for EG18-EA A13 to move from 01.300.01.300 to EG18EAPAR01A13M4G_01.200.01.200?
If there is a newer/correct regional firmware for Russia/CIS instead of 01.200.01.200, please provide that package and confirm that it is suitable for EG18-EA A13 in MikroTik ATL LTE18 kit.
