Hello Quectel team,
I am using a Quectel SC20-E module on an Android-based device deployed in Somalia.
The device connects to Wi-Fi networks without any issues, so the Android system and networking stack are working correctly.
For cellular, I’m using a SIM card from a local telecom operator. Based on the carrier’s documentation, the SIM supports multiple LTE bands that overlap with the SC20-E supported bands.
Current behavior on cellular:
- SIM card is detected correctly
- The device shows signal bars in the Android status bar
- However, no 4G/LTE data connection is established
- Mobile data does not work even though the SIM has active data
I would like to understand:
- If LTE band incompatibility can result in signal bars appearing but no data attachment
- Whether this could be related to APN settings, network mode, or modem configuration
- If there are any required AT commands or Android-side configurations needed for LTE data to work properly on SC20-E
Any guidance or troubleshooting steps would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
