Module: LC29H(DA), mounted on Waveshare LC29H(DA) GPS/RTK HAT (SKU 25279)
Firmware: LC29HDANR11A03S_RSA
Issue: RTK never progresses past SINGLE (fix=1), even with a clean, complete RTCM3 correction stream and excellent sky view.
Boot log shows a repeating acknowledgment failure from first power-on, every time, regardless of reset:
$PAIR011,00127
$PAIR010,1,-116
$PAIR010,2,-115
$PAIR001,011,239
$PAIR001,010,238
$PAIR001,010,238
$PAIR001,001,238
$PAIR001,001,238
(repeats indefinitely, Result=2 “command sending failed”)
This loop is present before I send any commands myself — it’s part of the module’s own startup sequence. No ML1220 backup battery is installed, so I understand PAIR010 (PAIR_REQUEST_AIDING) returning -1 is expected on cold start. The repeating PAIR001,001,2 afterward is what concerns me.
Despite this, I’ve confirmed the following all work correctly:
- UART/power/wiring: clean NMEA output, correct baud (115200)
- Sky view: 27-28 satellites tracked, HDOP consistently under 1.0
- NTRIP: connected to FLEPOS (Belgian VRS network) via FLEPOSVRS32GREC, sending live GGA every 5s
- RTCM3 stream: CRC24Q-validated, 0 bad frames, correct message set present — 1005 (station coordinates), 1075/1085/1095 (GPS/GLONASS/Galileo MSM4), plus 1030-1033/1230/1304/4094 auxiliary messages, all arriving continuously
With a textbook-complete correction stream landing on the RX pin and a strong sky view, I’d expect to see RTK Float (5) within seconds and Fixed (4) shortly after. Instead the GGA fix field stays at 1 indefinitely, unchanged, no matter how long the corrections stream.
Questions:
- Is the repeating PAIR001,001,2 boot loop a known issue, and could it be preventing the RTK engine from actually applying incoming corrections even though raw positioning works fine?
- Is there a firmware version newer than LC29HDANR11A03S_RSA that addresses this? I haven’t been able to find a public download and would appreciate it being shared.
Happy to provide additional logs, a QGNSS capture, or test intermediate firmware if useful. Thanks in advance.
