RM551e-gl Randomly Disconnecting

I have been having a problem with my RM55e-gl recently, where it randomly disconnects from the Internet and then reconnects. This device ran stably for a couple of months before this problem presented itself. The device is in IPPT mode so every time it disconnects, the ethernet link briefly goes down and when it comes back up, new IP addresses are assigned.

I have tried to do some troubleshooting myself to determine where the problem lies. First, I reflashed the firmware using QFirehose and when I got the modem reconfigured, it was stable for about a week with the issue eventually coming back. I have captured the logs during one of these disconnection events through ADB and it looks to me like the problem originates from the modem as the first two log messages after the start of a disconnection is from QCMAP saying something along the lines of “QCMAP: Modem in service NAS indication received on sub1”.

How can I capture the log messages coming from the modem in a human-readable format? I do not have access from QXDM and thus can’t analyze the logs coming out of QWinLog (not that I would know what I’m looking at in the first place.) Does anyone have any other ideas on how I could go about debugging this?

I have attached the logs from readlog within ADB to see if they can gleam any light on the issue.

Sadly to tell you many users facing this issue on RM551-es..
Firmware : RM551EGL00AAR01A02M8G ( The latest one )

So you need to use auto reconnect apk or opkg to be added .. you need to search for this package until Quectel solve this issue ..

Good luck

I don’t see how an auto-reconnect utility will help me. The modem has no issue auto-recconnecting. It’s the momentary drop in traffic that’s the problem. I have read about the IPPT problems from awhile back but haven’t seen any mention of it happening on the latest firmware.

I also don’t understand why this started happening after a couple of months of use. It was stable for a good long while before this became an issue.

Dear @iamgeek
If want to debug disconnect issue, please help to capture log include the disconnect.
Qwinlog is ok.

If I need to send you a rather large log file, what cloud-sharing providers can you access? I can create a Google Drive link but can look into another provider if you are unable to access Google Drive.

Also, which of the qwinlog configs would you like me to use?

Dear @iamgeek
Sorry, I can’t use google Driver.
For filter file, I have sent to you via Message, please check.
Please share your current firmware.
