yes indeed
maybe due to -e firehouse
need qcn to restore my modem

Dear @BR_STEVE
If restore the QCN from us, the performance will be worse than before, do you accept this?
If yes, please share IMEI of your RM551E.

why would that be?any reasons?
also from what you said, does it mean if i get qcn file from some other people, performance wont be hurt?

IMEI 869710030002905
nevertheless send me the qcn file if you can
(IMEI may be incorrect since i cant control the modem right now)

Dear @BR_STEVE
Each module will be calibrated before shipping. So different module have different QCN file.
You can get QCN file from other people, the performance will be worse than before, it is same.
For QCN file, I need time to get, if get it, I will share with you.

RO1 QCN FILE send this plz

Hello,

@silvia — I believe you helped with a very similar case here before: RM551E-GL QCN file request ( RM551E-GL QCN file request ). I seem to have hit the same issue and wanted to tag you directly in case you’re able to help again.

I updated the RM551E-GL module in my Suncomm 08 Ultra router from firmware RM551EGL00AAR01A02M8G to RM551EGL00AAR01A04M8G_A0.001.A0.001 using Firehose (an early flashing attempt mis-parsed the vendor tag and likely wiped the whole NAND; a corrected second flash restored the rawprogram-defined partitions successfully — “Upgrade module successfully”, all 26 partitions written).

Since then, the module is stuck and never leaves CFUN: 5. AT+CFUN=1 consistently returns +CME ERROR: 0 (phone failure). No serving cell is found, AT+CSQ returns 99,99, AT+CGATT? returns 0.

Diagnostic findings:

  • AT+QRFCALIBRATE? → +QRFCALIBRATE: 0 (not calibrated / calibration erased)
  • AT+QXQCN? → +QXQCN: 0 (no XQCN file activated)
  • AT+QXQCN=? → ERROR (no XQCN file available in this firmware to activate as fallback)
  • AT+CGSN returns an IMEI that does not match the one printed on the device’s physical label — the module appears to be reporting a generic/placeholder IMEI rather than its provisioned one, suggesting provisioning/NV data was wiped along with calibration.

I’ve already emailed support@quectel.com with the full IMEI and these details. Happy to provide the IMEI here via DM if that’s easier. Has anyone else hit this exact combination (QRFCALIBRATE=0 + QXQCN error + mismatched IMEI) after a Firehose-based A02→A04 update, and if so, how was it resolved?

Thanks for your help and best regards
Torsten
