RM530N-GL at+cops registration is denied by T-Mobile USA

I have a T-Mobile SIM card that works fine with a SierraWireless 4G/5G card (EM9191), but I am unable to get that SIM card (it’s unlocked) to operate with my RM530N-GL. Am I missing a step? The SIM card was first used on the Sierra Wireless, and I was under the impression that registration is pretty much automatic, so I shouldn’t even have to run the above commands. But even when I do, I am denied permission (+CEREG: 3 = “Permission denied”)…what’s wrong? mmcli just says that status is “searching/detached”, and

at+qnwinfo

+QNWINFO: No Service

but that is likely because I am not registered.

Seems like I am not transmitting. Or maybe not even receiving. What do I need to do to turn on the radio? I haven’t updated firmware, just using it as it arrived.

And what is a QCN file and what does have to do with anything? Many posts here have issues with QCN. How can I tell if mine is present? How do I update the firwmare? Are there any WIKI’s or documents or “howto’s” from Quectel? Thanks.

Dear @jzb
From the response of AT commands, it seems there is no service on your side.
Please check the antennas.

If QCN was lost, CFUN will show 5 or 7. But your device is 1, it is normal.

Also, please note that T-Mobile in my area in not known as

(from +QMBNCFG: “List”,0,1,1,“Commercial-TMO”,0x0A01050F,202402061) but rather

“T-Mobile”

or sometimes

fast.t-mobile.com

Is T-Mobile missing from the QMBNCFG list? Thanks…

Dear @jzb
Do you have USB port to capture log for analyze?

Yes, I believe I have the necessary communications paths. I am running Linux and I have /dev/ttyUSB[0-3] present. I currently use /dev/ttyUSB2 with minicom to send/receive AT… commands. I’m running the modem via /dev/cdc-wdm0 and the debug port should be /dev/ttyUSB0 or one of the others, can’t recall which. Let me know what to capture and how. My ‘lsusb’ shows

Bus 002 Device 017: ID 2c7c:0801 Quectel Wireless Solutions Co., Ltd. RM530N-GL

for the modem.

Dear @jzb
I will sent the tool and user guide to capture log via Message, please check.
