RM521F-GL repair?

And poof!
Just like that, I broke an antenna pad on my RM521F-GL.
Sigh, the pad is inside the connector lead, broken off of the modem.
Does Quectel repair these?
Probably will coast as much as buying a new one?

Antenna pad? Do you mean the soldered on connector or the pad the connector is soldered to?

If connector is broken they are ipex4 connectors and cost $0.5 each. If you dont know how to solder any local repair shop ought to be able to help you if you bring the modem and a connector.

If the traces on the board are damaged the local repair shop ought to be able to help out for that as well.

Ahh, I see this, I am in USA BTW…

I will ask.

For anyone working wtih soldering components replacing the damaged connector if it looks like in the picture on that website is a super simple job! Even hobby users with limited experiance could do it. That said, if you have no experiance the component may be on the small side to use as a learning experiance.

The components are a LOT smaller than I have experience with.
In my youth I could cope with SMD components.
But now, I fear, not so much.
I don’t have the necessary tools neither.

You do not need any modem specific repair shop, any electronic repair shop can do it. They might not have the part on hand, but you can order the connector online from Digikey or similar: https://www.digikey.se/sv/products/detail/i-pex/20579-001E/22108890?s=N4IgTCBcDaIJIAUCiANABGADAVgOwE4BaTTARiRAF0BfIA

IPEX 20579-001E is the specified name for the connector according to the hardware design PDF from Quectel. (at least for the RM520, and I doubt they have changed for the RM521f)
