i do need a code unlock OR a firmware (if safe to flash). i have bought it from Amazon.com and i received it and it works for most part but i am trying to do “AT+QCFG=“usbnet”?” so i can change the usbnet to 2.
Thank you! Unfortunately I’m now locked out after trying to mess with it with my router, I do not have AT usb port access only DM COM port that I can see.
Would there any chance you have a window DM COM tool to send unlock key over that way?
Thanks — I got the challenge response (vlfSHp/n1985A/w) but after changing USB mode my device no longer exposes the AT ports — only the DM/diagnostic COM is visible on my PC. I can’t apply the unlock key from Linux because only DM is exposed.
Can Waveshare / Quectel (or anyone) provide the Windows DM/QDL tool (or instructions) that can send the unlock response over the DM port, or a safe “global” firmware image? I will send IMEI/QADBKEY privately — please don’t ask me to post IMEI publicly.
i already attempted to try via USB mode but there is no way to go back to USB or AT mode. i have installed the drivers that supposedly expose AT, DM and 2 more mode or so. unfortunately it only expose DM mode. i believe there is a way to send unlock key Via DM but it would require a firmware along the IMEI and unlock key. so like a bundle but with unlock key included it. so it would be “unlocked” out of the firmware instead of reinstalling the same firmware and still be locked, you can give me guide how to get back in AT mode but my understanding is that JP firmware is locked down to the point where they do not expose AT. so that why i asked if there a way to do it via DM. again i did my research and it looks like it possible either reflashing with global firmware or same firmware but with unlock key included.
Thank you for providing the firmware. I successfully flashed it with QFlash and it reported “PASS.”
However, the module still only enumerates as the DM port (VID 2C7C:0801). There are no AT or modem interfaces, and the cellular connection no longer works.
Could you please provide a firmware package that performs a full reset to restore all USB ports (AT, Modem, NMEA, MBIM, etc.) so the module can operate normally again?
Alternatively, if possible, I would be happy to let your engineer connect remotely to my computer (TeamViewer/AnyDesk or any remote program) to perform the USB configuration restore via the DM port. If this procedure cannot be shared publicly but can be executed by your team, that would also be acceptable.
Thank you very much for your assistance,
Alexander
Looks like you may have bought a branded GLAP module. IIRC RM520NGLAAR03A03M4G_JP is found on Lenovo OEM modules. Also those modules are PCIE only usually.
That might be why you are having problems with usbnet.
Can you make sure it is a AA model and not AP? You can find the model on the card shield. APs are e-fused to PCIE only and cannot use USB.
Flashing Lenovo or Lenovo-flashed modules with generic firmware will stop them from booting. When only the DM port is visible, it can mean the module failed to boot.
