Hi Bean,

I need to update the firmware I have the qcn file without using the tool. Can we able to update the firmware from the command line by connecting to a USB hub or PCIe switch? We are using an RM520 modem.

Please provide the steps to upgrade the firmware.

Sorry. Quectel cannot provide the way to update qcn on the forum. If the module brokes, I can’t be responsible for that.
The client must sign a disclaimer.
QFIL can make it.

Hi Bean,

Now RM520 modem is working fine with another firmware. We are going to upgrade with new firmware. It is connected to PCIE switch we have access to the terminal of our pcie switch.

If the module brokes, I can’t be responsible for that. ----> you are saying that while upgrading through command line modem can get damaged right bean

Update firmware is not a problem.
However, if you flash with the wrong firmware, there will be problems.
The most bigest problem is that Quectel would not allow the customer to update the qcn.
If you flash the modem with another qcn file. That’s a problem.
It will affect the RF. Maybe the performance is not as good as before.
Maybe the modem cannot register any more!

We got the firmware from Quectel only Bean.Could you please provide the steps and procedure?

I will provide the QFirehose.
If it support USB, it is better to use USB2.0 to upgrade the firmware.

It will support both PCIe and USB

While upgrading firmware through usb2.0 it will not damage the modem
