RM520N-GL issue

Hi

I have this famous pcie version of the modem. And I m not able to make it working. I was trying under BananaPi BPI-R4 router but I stucked on physical layer. Now I bought b-key passive adapter to m+b m2 nvme under minipc and it is worst. Even not present.

root@e3c:~# lspci -tv
±02.4-[04]– ????? my modem??????

root@e3c:~# lspci -s 00:02.4 -vvv | grep -E “LnkSta:|Bus:”
Bus: primary=00, secondary=04, subordinate=04, sec-latency=0
LnkSta: Speed 2.5GT/s, Width x1

[ 0.319560] pci 0000:00:02.4: broken device, retraining non-functional downstream link at 2.5GT/s
[ 1.318661] pci 0000:00:02.4: retraining failed
[ 2.318805] pci 0000:00:02.4: PME# supported from D0 D3hot D3cold

Of course not visible with USB adapter… It seems for me at the begining once I was able only to switch the modem in PCIE mode but after that darkness….

Any idea what can I do?

Kindly

Small update - I wish to flash my modem RM520N-GLAP-M20-HP with RM520N-GL-AA_Firmware_Release_Notes_V0108_01.206.01.206 (RM520NGLAAR01A08M4G):

Finally new firmware is loaded with QFIL but nothing has changed :DDDD no other ports under windows and under linux the same’: pcie still in trained mode not complete…. So my conclusion could be new firmware not resetting modem to the initial state

Dear @DroZDi

RM520N-GLAP-M20-HP is PCIe only, no USB mode.
And it is a customized one. I am not sure whether it can work with other devices.

Pcie is not problem. I wish to use it on this mode. Problem is how to change pcie root to pcie endpoint?

Dear @DroZDi
Do you install PCIe driver?
Please take a picture of your module.

PCIE driver was compiled but it changes nothing,

The issue is on lower layer in my opion…. As I wrote probably my modem is not in EP mode…

I soldered wires to dbg_tx/dbg_rx to test pins to see the console output but obviously theer is a silence…

Dear @DroZDi
As mentioned before, it is a customized, I am not sure what happened on it.
Please contact with your supplier and check how it work.

Let’s say this clear - there is no support from a buyer there. They are only interessted in selling items :((((

For me it is ok when in description there is an info dedicated to work only with… or it doesnt work with or in such configuration .. It is really disappointing after the purchase you discover all those details or maybe broken device…

Today I put in my adapter new modem Sierra EM9291:
