Hello,
I’m using an RM520N-GL with this firmware version:
RM520NGLAAR01A08M4G_01.200.01.200
Does this FW version support GPS?Does anyone know it?
It’s not given me back the position, I don’t know how to fix it.
I have some logs:
at+qgps?
+QGPS: 1

It supports GNSS functionality, I recommend you try it out in the open, while checking the GNSS antenna connection and adaptation
Well, I checked litereally EVERY thread in this Forum for a solution to get GNSS data of my RM520N - I have several of them with different firmware levels (4x GLAA and 6x GLAP) and none of them provides full NMEA sentences.
Except one GLAP module which somebody managed to load one of the latest GLAA Firmwares: This particular module which I obtained as a bargain on Aliexpress worked perfect only one time: Directly after installation in my Acer SwiftGo I was happy and surprised to see that using QNavigator1.6.10 resulted in complete NMEA sentences, a very quick GPSFix and accurate navigation. I was amazed that it worked even with those small taped internal antennas in appartment, next to a window.
So everything seemed fine…BUT: The next day when I tried again it was the same old mess: nearly empty NMEA sentences, no fix, no positioning.
I did nothing different than I did the day before: I just started QNavigator and observed the “GNSS” section with QGPS=1 - activated.
Why is it so difficult? Even in a desktop where the RM520 is connected to an external active GPS antenna I get no fix no data nothing while with same antenna attached to another desktop that features a Sierra Wireless EM7455 it works easy and excellent.
I am upset and frustrated. Please help
I’m having the exact same issue. My RM510Q-GL picks up GPS coordinates just fine with at+qgps=1,
but the RM520N-GL isn’t outputting anything at all.
I’ve even tried switching to a proper GNSS L1/L5 antenna that matches the specs, but still no luck.
I tested both units right by the window.
My RM520N-GL is currently running firmware version RM520NGLAAR01A08M4G.
I’m really hoping a firmware update can fix this GPS problem.
I have sent the latest firmware to your email, pls check and try again
