Hello, I have a Lenovo laptop equipped with the RM520N-GL module, but I was ultimately unable to use it with Korean carriers such as SKT and U-plus. The official response from SKT is that they currently cannot support it. Is there any way, perhaps through firmware or another method, to make it compatible with these carriers?
Let me explain the situation in more detail.
I’m using a Quectel RM520N-GL module that’s embedded in a Lenovo laptop. In Device Manager, the module is recognized as “Location 2 (QUECTEL_QMUX_BUS_KS_00)” and does not appear as a COM port. Because of this, I’m unable to access it via QPST or standard serial communication programs like Tera Term.
Here is the current situation:
- The module is recognized only as a QMUX interface, and not as a COM port.
- Without COM port access, I’m struggling to configure the MBN file required for SKT LTE network compatibility.
- I have tried installing the Qualcomm QDLoader HS-USB driver, but the module still does not appear as a COM port.
Questions:
- Is there a way to configure the MBN file in QMUX mode to make the module compatible with the SKT LTE network?
- Can I use QCOM or QPST to configure the MBN in this situation, or is there another approach I should take?
- If there are additional drivers or tools provided by Quectel that could assist with this issue, could you please let me know?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
I guess that the modem might be in PCIe modem and connected with the Laptop via PCIe but not USB.
It seems not like a standard Quectel cellular modem but a customerized firmware for laptop.
