RM520N-EU – Latest Firmware Request & 5G Connectivity Issues on Linux/FreeBSD

Hello,

I am writing to request the latest firmware for my Quectel RM520N-EU module and to ask whether anyone has experience getting this module to work with 5G on Debian Linux or FreeBSD.

I am experiencing significant issues establishing a 5G connection on both platforms. An LTE connection works without any problems, but 5G connectivity cannot be achieved on either system.

According to the FreeBSD community, the RM500 series has been successfully tested and confirmed working with the current FreeBSD release, which gives me hope that the RM520N-EU can be brought to work as well.

My primary question is therefore: Has anyone successfully managed to get 5G working with the RM520N-EU on Linux or FreeBSD? Any hints, configurations, or workarounds would be greatly appreciated.

I am also hoping that a firmware update might resolve these issues — which is why I would kindly ask Quectel to provide me with the latest firmware package for this module. That said, community experience and advice is equally valuable to me at this point.

Thank you in advance for your support.

Best regards
