RM502QGLAAR11A02M4G_01.200.01.200 unable to connect to 5G-SA

Hi,

I have a RM502QGLAAR11A02M4G_01.200.01.200 cpe modem.

It is able to connect only to 5G-NSA, but not 5G-SA.

I ported the same sim card onto my phone, it was able to connect to 5G-SA.

I tired to set AT+QNWPREFCFG: “mode_pref”,NR5G to the modem, it would fail to get any signal.

I reside in Singapore which has both 5G-SA and 5G-NSA.

Have anyone encountered the same issue before?

AT+QNWPREFCFG=“nr5g_disable_mode”
+QNWPREFCFG: “nr5g_disable_mode”,0
OK

If i set “mode_pref” to NR5G, it will not be able to connect.

Hi Silvia,

I have done some more tests and the CPE modem is working as it is.

It is able to connect to 5G NSA n78, which is what my phone is connecting to too.

So there are no 5G SAs around my area, maybe.

BTW, the CPE modem is only getting around 2/3 of speed/bandwidth of what the phone is getting.

The chip on the phone (IQOO 13) is Qualcomm SM8750-AB Snapdragon 8 Elite (3 nm ).

Is the speed/bandwidth difference due to newer chip used?

For NSA, what is your combinations? Is it same with phone?
For NSA, it also have LTE+5G.

I have ported the same sim card on both CPE and phone.

Followings are the results:

CPE (RG500Q-EA):
Networks connected:
LTE BAND 28 , LTE BAND 3 , NR5G BAND 78

Speed tests:
200.1 Mbps (DL)
79.4 Mbps (UL)

PHONE:
Networks connected:
4G LTE 700+2600
5G NSA 3500

Speed tests:
350 Mbps (DL)
51.1 Mbps (UL)

I have both CPEs RG500Q-EA and RM502QGL.

Both CPEs behave about the same and have lower connection speed than phone.

Above reading is done on CPE RG500Q-EA.
