Dear Quectel Technical Support Team,
I am an individual user from India. I am not working for any company and I am not using the module for any commercial or corporate purpose.
I recently obtained a Quectel RG520F-JO 5G module from a scrap/second-hand circuit board. I do not have any information about its previous device, owner, application, carrier, or original firmware configuration.
I am trying to reuse this module for personal use, but I am experiencing several problems:
- Many SIM cards do not work with the module.
- The SIM cards that do work have an unstable Internet connection.
- The Internet connection frequently drops or becomes unstable.
- The module sometimes gets stuck in a boot loop and repeatedly restarts.
Because the module came from a scrap board, I suspect that the installed firmware may be customized for the original device/operator, outdated, corrupted, or otherwise unsuitable for normal use.
I found the following Quectel Forum discussion regarding the same RG520F-JO and the generic firmware:

RG520FJOAAR05A04M4G was provided/recommended as the generic firmware for RG520F-JO.
Could you please confirm whether RG520FJOAAR05A04M4G is compatible with my RG520F-JO and, if so, provide me with:
- The firmware package.
- The officially recommended QFlash tool.
- The required USB drivers.
- The correct flashing procedure/instructions.
- Any precautions or backup procedure I should follow before flashing.
I do not want to flash an incorrect firmware intended for another RG520F variant, because I understand that this could potentially make the module unusable.
I also have a Quectel UN65A module obtained from another scrap circuit board. I would appreciate it if you could also help me identify the correct standard/generic firmware for the UN65A and provide the appropriate flashing procedure for that module.
I have attached photographs of both modules and their circuit boards to this email.
For privacy and security reasons, I have covered/blurred the IMEI numbers and QR codes in the photographs. If you require the IMEI or other identification information to verify the exact hardware/firmware variant, I can provide it privately.
My goal is simply to repair and reuse these modules for personal use in India.
I would be very grateful for your technical guidance and for the correct firmware required to make these modules stable and usable again.
