Request for Firmware Update and Support for LC29HBA GNSS RTK Modem (LC29HBANR11A02S_CSA2)

We are using your 7Semi Industrial LC29H Series Dual-Band GNSS RTK Modem based on the Quectel LC29HBA module.

Module Details:

  • Product: 7Semi Industrial LC29H Series Dual-Band GNSS RTK Modem

  • GNSS Module: Quectel LC29HBA

  • Firmware Version: LC29HBANR11A02S_CSA2

  • Build Date: 2023/05/09

  • Software Tool: QGNSS V2.4

We are trying to configure the module according to the LC29H & LC79H GNSS Protocol Specification V1.5 (Released: 2025-09-12), but we are facing several issues.

1. NMEA Message Configuration

We want to configure the receiver to output only the GGA and RMC NMEA sentences.

When executing:

$PQTMCFGMSGRATE,W,GGA,1

or

$PQTMCFGMSGRATE,R,GGA

the module responds with:

$PQTMCFGMSGRATE,ERROR,1

According to the protocol specification, Error Code 1 = Invalid parameters.

2. Constellation Configuration

We also attempted to enable NavIC using:

$PQTMCFGCNST,W,1,1,1,1,1,1

and query the current configuration using:

$PQTMCFGCNST,R

However, these commands are not accepted by the module.

3. Commands Verified

The following PQTM commands work correctly:

  • PQTMVERNO

  • PQTMSAVEPAR

For example:

$PQTMVERNO

returns:

LC29HBANR11A02S_CSA2
2023/05/09

and

$PQTMSAVEPAR

returns:

$PQTMSAVEPAR,OK

This confirms that UART communication and the PQTM command parser are functioning correctly.

4. Current GNSS Operation

The receiver successfully tracks and uses:

  • GPS

  • GLONASS

  • Galileo

  • BeiDou

  • QZSS

However, NavIC satellites are not visible or used in the navigation solution.

Could you please advise:

  1. Is firmware LC29HBANR11A02S_CSA2 fully compatible with the LC29H & LC79H GNSS Protocol Specification V1.5?

  2. Does this firmware support the PQTMCFGMSGRATE and PQTMCFGCNST commands?

  3. If not, could you please provide the latest recommended firmware for the 7Semi LC29HBA modem?

  4. Please share the corresponding firmware upgrade package and upgrade procedure, if available.

  5. If these commands require a different syntax for the CSA2 firmware, kindly provide the correct command format.

Our goal is to:

  • Enable NavIC.

  • Configure the desired GNSS constellations.

  • Output only GGA and RMC NMEA messages.

We would appreciate your guidance and any updated firmware or documentation that can help us achieve this.
