Request EC20CEFA firmware (EC20CEFAR02A10M4G) — module stuck in CFUN:7 after wrong CEFAG flash

Hello Quectel Support,

My module is EC20CEFA-512-STD.
Original firmware (AT+QGMR): EC20CEFAR02A10M4G
IMEI: 867184032906566

I mistakenly flashed EC20CEFAGR06A15M4G (CEFAG) firmware onto this CEFA
hardware. Flashing finished successfully and UAC works, but the modem can
no longer register to any network:

  • AT+CFUN? returns +CFUN: 7
  • AT+CFUN=1 returns +CME ERROR: 0 (phone failure)
  • AT+CSQ = 99,99, AT+COPS=? returns ERROR (no RF)

Could you please email me the correct EC20CEFA firmware (EC20CEFAR02A10M4G
or a newer CEFA baseline) so I can restore the module with QFirehose?

My email: ligh15@foxmail.com

Thank you very much!

Hi there,
May I know do you have another module which is currently with the original FW version (EC20CEFAR02A10M4G)?
Wrongly flash with different baseline version (for your issue: wrongly flash FW with R06 baseline) can cause corruption to your module especially to module’s RF.

If you have another module with the same FW version, you can back up the CEFS file of the good module and restore the CEFS file to the bad module using QPST tool.

Make sure to flash the original FW to the bad module firstly before restoring the CEFS file.
