Reducing current consumption M66

Hello all,

I am using an M66 module with a rather small 200mAh 3.6V lithium cell in a portable device. When I try to transmit data using GPRS, (using CFUN=1), the battery voltage drops just slightly below 3.3V and the module turns off.

Is there a way to limit the current surge? I came across the RF Test application note and it talks of a command called AT+QMAXTXPWR command. Can it be used to reduce TX power so that the current surge is lower in magnitude?

Thank you,
Regards

Hi
This command is a custom version of a customer and the baseline version is not available.
When the module sends radio frequency, there will be a large current. You can consider adding a capacitor to the vbat, but the capacitor value should not be too large, otherwise it will affect the flash life of the module
