Quectel MC25 why not available in market

I would like to know if this product has been discontinued or is currently out of stock?

Hi,
The MC25 only supports A5/1 and A5/2 encryption algorithms.
It doesn’t support A5/3 at the hardware level.
In other words, when the network tells it to encrypt with A5/3, the MC25 can’t understand that algorithm. For this reason, the MC25 isn’t available in most countries. Older modules like the MC25 don’t have the hardware/firmware architecture to run A5/3. For this reason, Quectel has withdrawn the MC25 from the market; newer-generation modules with LTE-M/NB-IoT support (EG915, BG95, BG77, etc.) are being sold in its place.

Thank you for your replay. But i need RDA8955L chip with GPS. EG915, BG95, BG77 those module base on RDA8955L Chip?

Unfortunately, these three modules are not based on the RDA8955L.

EG915 (LTE Cat 1 bis) → UNISOC 8910DM (UIS8910) platform.
BG95 (LTE-M / NB-IoT) → Qualcomm 9205 platform (with integrated GNSS support).
BG77 (LTE-M / NB-IoT) → Qualcomm 9205 platform (with integrated GNSS support).

The RDA8955L is an older-generation 2G/GPRS SoC.

The M65 and M95-R support the RDA8955L. Furthermore, using the M65 also makes it advantageous for you to upgrade to the M66, as these two modules are compatible with each other.
