Quectel EM120R-GL Not working in ECM

Hi my name in Mou!

I am having a lot of problems getting internet access through my Quectel EM120R-GL modems in ECM mode (I have other modems, specifically the EM05 and EM06 that work fine).
I have tried with two different FW versions and nothing, it doesn’t work. Neither gives me DHCP address, nor I have internet access by configuring the static IP and the GW:
E.g: - Modem IP: 192.168.225.50/24 - GW: 192.168.225.1

The FW versions I have tested are:

  • EM120RGLAPR02A07M4G_25.025.25.025
  • EM120RGLAUR02A08M4G_09.009.09.009

What can I do? I need it to work in ECM mode

The modem do not support ECM and it will not be implemented even in the next firmware version.

Sadly I can only use ECM for my project.
It was also not compatible in older versions of FW?
If not, what 4G modem alternatives do you recommend with ECM mode and eSIM support to use LPA?

EM120R and EM160R are used for laptop product. And it prefer to try MBIM mode by default.
Maybe you could try the 5G module such as RM500Q or RM520N.
