Quectel BG95-M5: Crash when test RF

I’ve some problems with the BG95 module when we try to test RF with AT command AT+QRFTEST. The module works for GSM test but crash with LTE test.
We are following the application notes “BG95&BG77&BG600L Series FTM Application Note V1.1”. Commands are taken from the example at the end of the document.

  1. Connect through USB with QCOM_V1.6.
  2. Send command:
    ATI;+QGMR
    Receive:
Quectel
BG95-M5
Revision: BG95M5LAR02A03

OK
  1. Send command:
    AT+QRFTESTMODE=1
    Receive:
    OK
  2. Send command:
    AT+QRFTEST="GSM900",122,"ON",0,100
    Receive:
    OK
    I can see a wave at 900MHz on the spectrum analyzer.
  3. Send command:
    AT+QRFTEST="GSM900",122,"OFF",0,100
    Receive:
    OK
    No wave, normal.
  4. Send command:
    AT+QRFTEST="LTE BAND20",24300,"ON",50,1,100,0,50,4,0
    Crash. I tried with other bands and there are crashes too.

Hi, I think it’s not the good installer (QPST instead of QWINLOG). I can’t fin QWINLOG, can you provide me a link to download it?

Hi Jeanbie,

Sorry for late response.
When you switch FTM test from GSM to LTE, you need reboot module then do LTE FTM test.
And this is required, could you please help do a test once more?

No problem.

When I reboot the module, the FTM test mode is reset to 0.
What I also do in my test (with the same crash) is just:

AT+QRFTESTMODE=1
AT+QRFTEST="LTE BAND20",24300,"ON",50,1,100,0,50,4,0

I think that the solution is to put a SIM card to perform the test. Maybe you need to remove the SIM card, I don’t remember exactly, but it was SIM card related.
