Placing RG502Q-EA into Mikrotik ATL18

Hello,

I would like to replace EG18-EA modem from Mikrotik ATL18 with RG502Q-EA from Mikrotik Chateau 5G.

I’ve never done something like that so I’m afraid that I will damage the module.

Bands that Chateau connects are: Primary band: B20@10 MHz, CA bands: n78@100MHz, B3@20 MHz and B1@15MHz and that’s what is available to me.

Can anyone help me with connecting ATL antennas to RG502Q-EA ? Problem is, ATL have 4 connectors while RG502 have 8…

Thank You

Keep in mind that it’s not worth it

For plugs, take inspiration from https://confusedbird.com/thread-310.html?highlight=mikrotik.
Good luck.

I’ve read in the first link that all connectors must be populated to avoid modem damage… So it seems that at least this version of modem is not suitable for ATL.

Hi Krešimir,
I also add that I tried to put an RM502Q-GL on LHGG which has the same Marvell Armada_ARM 64bit HW of ATL and the modem was not initialized but on the old RB912 (MIPSBE) it works perfectly…

Marco

So good thing I didn’t try it then… I put modem back and I will use it as is. Thank You
