How do I send AT commands to a PCIe only modem?
RM520N-GLAP
How do I send AT commands to a PCIe only modem?
What is the equivalent command for: AT+EGMR=1,7,“012345678901234”
In a qmicli command?
Seems that you tried the modem on the Linux.
You should have intergrated the pcie_mhi driver. And you can send the AT command via /dev/mhi_DUN and you can send QMI via /dev/mhi_QMI0.

Thank you so much : ) Worked great!
Can you also help me with the process to upgrade firmware?
Currently:
model: RM520N-GLAP
firmware revision: RM520NGLAAR01A05M4G
You could try the Quectel tool QFirehose.
But the firmware version seems not correct.
model: RM520N-GLAP
firmware revision: RM520NGLAAR01A05M4G
GLAP means it is PCIE only.
But the GLAA is not.
Was told by one Quectel rep that the GLAA and GLAP share the same firmware, is this not correct?
No. As I know it is not the same firmware.
You can take a photo of the shield of the module and show me the IMEI on it.
And please check the version with AT command ATI.
GLAA is the USB version and GLAP is the PCIe Only version.
It is definitely the GLAP version, so I need the firmware for for PCIE version. I will take a picture this evening and send to you for confirmation
Can we confirm or deny that the Firmware for the RM520N-GLAA and RM520N-GLAP is the same please?
My RM520N-GLAP version for sure reports RM520NGLAAR01A05M4G firmware with the ATI command.
Very possible they are the same. Supposedly the APs are pulled from laptops. So I extracted the driver packages from Lenovo and HP. They contain everything needed to run on Windows including firmware and all of it is AA ver.
Thank you for this : ) I think this is the consensus on several forums but @Bean.Wang-Q mentioned they were not. I don’t want to brick the modem flashing the AA firmware. Was just wanting some at Quectel to chime in.
Same as well. I’m looking for the AP firmware but seems like nobody knows anything about it at Quectel.
So maybe I’ll consider crossflashing when they get back to me. AFAIK people have crossflashed RM551E to FM190W and have it working. Along with your AP with AA firmware on it.
This would be awesome : ) I’ve never understood why it is so difficult to get Quectel’s firmware and info about them.
One guy said that he put his AA into PCIe mode and could not go back to USB mode and come to find out some of them I guess will blow the fuse switching?
And what’s the IMEI on the device?
You can use the QFirehose to upgrade the firmware.
For the firmware version I am not sure, maybe you can ask somebody else.
Update on crossflashing. So far AAR01A06M4G and AAR03A04M4G have failed to even flash. They result in a download error in EDL.
The Lenovo firmware (AAR03A04M4G) succeeded flashing but has problems since its FCC locked. After the flash completed the PCIE id changed and the Quectel Windows generic driver no longer works. Only the Lenovo driver would load. I’m in the process of setting up a Linux environment to try other firmware versions since the Lenovo one has basically soft locked it to airplane mode.
So far I recommend not crossflashing to manufacturer released firmware for now since they are special and have FCC locks despite the same version. I will try more versions once I get the Linux enviroment setup.
@Bean.Wang-Q Can you send me the Linux utilities? I need pcie_mhi, qconnectmanager, and qfirehose.
