MC60 external watchdog

Hello Everyone,

I am currently working with an MC60 module in OpenCPU mode. I suspect the module has an internal watchdog, as it automatically resets during incidents like an overflow.

Despite this, I’m curious about the necessity and operation of an external watchdog. Does it provide extra functionality or critical use cases? More specifically, during Firmware Over-The-Air (FOTA) updates, could there be situations where an error might occur that the module cannot automatically handle and would require an external watchdog to reset?

I would be grateful for any insights or explanations on this matter.

The module has an internal watchdog, about 30s, but as long as you allow the task to be normally scheduled, the module can feed the dog in time, and the watchdog will not work during fota
