M66/M65 limit maximum TX power

Hi,
we have similar problem like here: CLICK.

If the RSSI is low the modem starts to increase the TX power. This causes voltage drops and modem stops responding. We are not able to do anything else in the term of power supply, so the only way is to limit the maximum TX power.

The question is: how to do it on M66/M65?

Ps. We have checked the command (AT+QNVFR=“/nv/item_files/rfnv/00025076”) from BG96, however it returns an error (+CME ERROR: 100).
Thank you. Best regards.

Hi

  • As stated in the email:
We are sorry that we do not have a command to set the power, in general, tx power increase will not cause the module to restart. When the M66/M65 is transmitting RF, there will be a high current, which will lower the vbat voltage of the module and also cause a restart. You can see if it is the effect of this high current, you can increase the capacitance in vbat to optimize this phenomenon, please refer to the attached hardware reference manual, vbat section
