Linux wwan0 vs usb0

Hi,

I use a debian buster linux and a RM500 M2.0 module.
Sometimes, device doesn’t appear as wwan0 but as usb0.
I really don’t know if it’s because of driver, Quectel module or PC platform (only Atom E3950 @ 1.60GHz).
Does anybody seen that and find a way to always have wwan0?

KR,
Jim

Dear Sir,
Thanks for your question, can you help to answer below questions, so we can ask our related FAE engineer to support you, thanks in advance.

  • Company name and located city:

  • Project name (so we can refer to it in the future):

  • Application type:

  • Estimated Annual Units (for series production):

  • Project timeline:

  • Current status:

  • From which distributor do you buy Quectel modules & EVB kits?

  • Do you have EVB kit for this application?

Hi,

Funny, question looks like coming from a robot (even if I’m almost sure you’re not… but is Peter a single person?).
Well, Orange/France/5GCroCo and others/OBU/0/now/?/M2.0 module/no

Thankfully, I think I solved myself the issue and it maybe helps someone else. So what seems working (until it fails ;-)) is prioritizing module loading: just add qmi_wwan_q in /etc/modules and voila…

KR,
Jim
