Latest Firmware Version for Quectel RM520N-GL - 5G problems

I am currently using the Quectel RM520N-GL modem and am experiencing issues with registering to the 5G network. I have tried various configurations, including setting the rat_acq_order to NR5G and adjusting the nr5g_band settings, but I am still unable to register the modem to the 5G network.

Additionally, when I check the registration status with AT+COPS?, I receive code 13, and when using AT+QNWINFO, it returns LTE as the current network.

Could you please provide me with the latest firmware version for the RM520N-GL? My current firmware version is RM520NGLAAR03A03M4G_01.201.01.201.

I would appreciate your assistance in resolving this issue.

13 means NSA, did you confirm there have SA network on your side.

You can also use AT+QENG=“servingcell” to check.

I hope you are doing well. I bought 2 Quectel RM520GL-N module but struggling to connected to 5G. I also understood it depends on many factors, such as

  1. Check Firmware and Settings: Ensure that your modem’s firmware is up to date. You can also try using AT commands to lock the modem to 5G. For example, use AT+QNWPREFCFG=“mode_pref”,NR5G to force the modem to prefer 5G networks

  2. Verify Network Compatibility: Confirm that Vodafone’s 5G network in your area supports the bands used by the RM520N-GL. Sometimes, the modem might not be certified for use on certain networks [Vodafone network UK is compatible with Quectel]

  3. Antenna Configuration: Make sure all antennas are properly connected to the modem. Incomplete antenna setups can affect the modem’s ability to connect to 5G

  4. Location Testing: Try connecting from different locations to see if the issue persists. Sometimes, moving to an area with better 5G coverage can help
