Hi folks,
I want to use the L96-m33 for timing applications based on it’s 1PPS output. My technical fundamentals regarding GPS synchronization are basic. Does this part have any output jitter spec. on the 1PPS signal? I cannot find it for this particular chip. Maybe another module should be used if the internal crystal introduces too much jitter with no correction.
Please let me know.
Best Regards,
Tony
Hi @tonym8655
Thank you for reaching out
To further support you, may i know the following info
- how often the Jitter happen ?
- how much offset the jitter cause?
- Can you share me the NMEA log via email with the jitter happening?
Best regards
Hi YongHuang,
I haven’t worked with the device yet and only asking a question about the datasheet specification. In the L96-M33 Hardware Design document on page 12, jitter isn’t specified, but accuracy is written. The accuracy is <10ns. For another product such as the L26-T specification, 1PPS jitter is specified at +/- 6.5ns. Is there any reason jitter isn’t specified for the L96-M33?
Best Regards,
Tony
Hi @tonym8655
The 1PPS jitter is only written in specs for timing module as it is the main output for these modules.
Best regards,
Understood and thank you Yong. I will review the L29-T for this project.
