At the “L86 Hardware Design” reference, on page 32, What does “interfering vias” refer to? I understand that GND vias do not apply. And regarding the area, does it refer to the 30x30mm square around it, or to a different/smaller area?
It’s recommended to provide ta least a 30mm x 30mm square ground plane for L86 module, and L86 is in the center. By doing this helps module have better performance on anti-interference.
Okay, thanks for your reply! I just wanted to ask for clarification regarding page 32.
Regarding the text: “The performance of embedded patch antenna depends on the actual size of the ground plane around the module. It is recommended to design a 30 mm × 30 mm ground plane shown below. In addition, components, especially thick ones, cannot be placed in the areas in any case (interfering vias are not allowed either)”
Could you clarify what exactly is meant by “interfering vias”? Does this refer to vias carrying signals at or near the GPS frequency, to vias carrying any type of signal, or to any vias in general (including GND)?.
Also is the keepout area for these vias 30x30mm or smaller?
