L86 Digital I/O pin max voltage ambiguity

Hi,

In the L86 Hardware Design V1.3 it says VIHmax for RXD pin is 3.1V.

However in that same PDF file it also shows a circuit with an RS232 level shifter where the L86’s RXD1 pin is directly connected to an SP3238 and it looks like R1OUT of the SP3238 is driving RXD1 with 3.3V?

The L86 datasheet also mentions that the RESET pin’s VIHmax = 3.1V but the comment says “…or connect it to VCC” but VCC will most likely be 3.3V for most applications so that would mean RESET might not be recognized when tied to 3.3V?

For digital I/O pins the datasheet says VIHmax = 3.1V but examples like the RS232 level shifter circuits and comments such as “can be tied to VCC” seem to indicate that 3.3V is also acceptable as a logic high?

Will the digital I/O pins of the L86 accept 3.3V as a logic high? If not, why does the datasheet seem to contradict that?

Thanks!

Hi rspoelstra
The Reset Pin can be connected to a 3.3V voltage, and the module’s I/O can recognize 3.3V as a high level.
