L80RE-M37 no output with Serial / UART Adapter

Hi,

I have connected a Quectel L80R-M37 GPS module to my computer via a CP2102 USB TTL UART Converter - 6 Pin. I received an “Open COM Port Success” message in QCOM, but I am not getting any output regardless of the baud rate I use.

The interface is connected as follows:

VCC -- 3.3V
TXD1 -- RXD
RXD1 -- TXD
GND -- GND

Maybe, I have to send PMTK or AT commands to activate NMEA messages?

Could you please help me troubleshoot this issue?

Thank you!

Hello,

which baudrate are you opening the COM port?

I tried all baudrates given in the documentation:

9600 - default setting
4800
9600
14400
19200
38400
57600
115200

The module has VCC and also VBATT are you connecting both to 3.3V?

additionally the supply must be able up to 100mA

The module is soldered to 4 pins with wires. It was handed to me like this.

When I operate the module with an Arduino Mega, I get output at all baud rates. Does it mean, the module is wired correctly?

Do easy steps:

check voltage level on pin 4 and pin5
check the power consumption this will allow you to understand if the module correctly starts and the power consumption is in line with declared acquisition power consumption.

C
