I’m hoping someone can help me I’m new to using cellular modules (apologies in advance if I have a hard time understanding) and am currently facing an issue.
I think my first point would be, does this module even have Esim capabilities? Or have I brought the wrong thing
Firmware : BG95M5LAR02A03 (retrieved by AT commands)
If BG95-M5 module I brought have Esim capabilities in which case I’m trying to get the EID using the
command below
AT+QUEOL
Which didn’t work so I thought I would need to activate the ESim.
below are the commands I have used
I believe I have to activate the ESim
AT+QCFG=“sim/onchip”,1 gave me a ok
Then
AT+QESIM=1 which gives me a error
I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong if anyone could help that would be great
Thank you for getting back to me I figured that could explain why any Esim commands do not work, I brought the M5 from digi-key and judging by your answer the M3 are more likely to have ESim capabilities is that correct?
If so on digi-key there seems to be a few options when it comes to the M3
Yes, only the BG95M3 datasheet shows e-SIM. The modules you sent have different features. They state this in the Digikey description section. You can get more accurate information by contacting the sales department in your country when selecting a product.
