Issue with communicating with the RM520N-GL

hi all. wondering if someone could shed some light on this. i am very new to cellular IOT and Embeded module hardware, so please bare with me.

I am in the process on connecting a Waveshare 5G_M.2_TO_Gigabit_ETH to a RM520N-GL (bought through the lenovo website for a laptop) and running into some issues. when installed on the waveshare and plugging it into my windows 10 machine, nothing comes up on device manager. doing a little digging, i believe it has been shipped in PCie mode and thus nothing comes up when plugged into the computer via the USB-C port on the waveshare. i know that i have the change the setup via an AT command using a serial tool but a bit lost on how to talk to it. am i right in understanding that the waveshare doesnt go direct from pcie to usb c thus i would need possibly a pcie 2 usb adapter, with the understanding that it does go straight from pcie to usb c, like found on portable m.2 portable drive adapters?

any information would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Dear @junglemonkey
Is your module RM520NGLAP?

Hi @Silvia,
I assume it should say this on the housing where all the information is laser engraved. no where says …AP. i made sure to check this when i read online they only are in pcie mode. but the model definitely says says RM520N-GL

Dear @junglemonkey
You can take a picture of your RM520N.
In your windows PC, is there any unknow devices in device manager?

hi @silvia , no nothing comes up in the device manager. not even a recognition refresh that something has been connected.

Dear @junglemonkey
You can check with lenovo about Waveshare 5G_M.2_TO_Gigabit_ETH, is there any driver for this?
