I know that PSM maintains some sort of network connection when in the deep sleep section, but once its becomes active again, if the link was made using transparent access mode - will this be maintained or will it need - re-establishing?

It is recommended to disconnect before going to sleep and re-establish the connection after PSM wakes up, because the connection may not be effectively maintained during sleep.
