Hello, I’m new to Quectel modules. I’ve been looking for information about the EG800K module, and it seems that there are two versions — or perhaps two different firmware options — that enable additional functions such as GPIOs. The standard version has no GPIOs, while the QuecPython version does include them.
From what I’ve found so far, there appears to be only a single hardware design. I haven’t been able to find more information to confirm this. Could someone clarify whether there are actually two different hardware versions, or if it’s simply a matter of firmware updates?
Here is the schematic of the standard version:
And here is the schematic of the QuecPython version, found on Quectel Developer Zone:
I also need clarification on whether these are different hardware models or simply different firmware/configurations:
- EG800KLALC-I03-TA0AA
- EG800KLALC-I03-SNSAA
- EG800KLALCR07A04M04_OCPU_QPY
- EG800KLALCR07A03M04_OCPU_QPY
From the part numbers, I understand that LALC refers to the variant and certifications, I03 to the hardware version, and the suffixes (TA0AA, SNSAA, etc.) might indicate firmware packages or specific functional configurations (for example, QuecPython enabled with GPIO support). Could someone confirm if these suffixes correspond to different physical hardware or if it’s only a matter of firmware build and feature set?
