How to use eSIM with the M95 modem

Hi Quectel

We are using a Quectel M95 with a regular SIM in our product now.
We would like to use eSIM in the next revision, but still use the M95 modem.

Is it possible to use eSIM with the M95 modem, and if so. Which changes to the AT commands do we need to make / add?

Hi Alkrojen:
The M95 module supports eSim and it does not require special AT commands.
But you need to confirm with the simcard vendor and then go through the actual test.

Thanks good to know but "can you please explain what you men with “you need to confirm with the simcard vendor and then go through the actual test.”.? We use ordinary and eSIM cards from the same vendor (Onomondo)
The modem works fine with the ordinary SIM card, but when using eSIM it can read ICCID, not not register to the network (AT+CREG? replies 0,2) even after 3 minutes of waiting

Any ideas what could be wrong

Because the module just acts as a kind of channel.
The specific implementation needs to confirm with the SIM card provider whether need to download the SIM profile or not.
