How to setup to select other rmnet interface? ie. rmnet_data1 or rmnet_data2?

Hi,

Currently, I can bring up if #7 of rment_data0. I want to know the way to use two other rmnet_data1 and rmnet_data2. Can you please share the way to enable them?

7: rmnet_data0@rmnet_ipa0: <UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 1900 qdisc mq state UNKNOWN group default qlen 1000
    link/[519]
    inet 10.26.27.215/28 scope global rmnet_data0
       valid_lft forever preferred_lft forever
8: rmnet_data1@rmnet_ipa0: <> mtu 1500 qdisc noop state DOWN group default qlen 1000
    link/[519]
9: rmnet_data2@rmnet_ipa0: <> mtu 1500 qdisc noop state DOWN group default qlen 1000
    link/[519]

Hi Meq

Is it a Quectel Open product?
You can set up data call with multiPDN.

Yes,

It’s Quectel Open product.

I want to understand the links between APN profiles and network interfaces for setting up redundant networks or APNs for a SIM.

I can see 5 profiles, try to activate profile 1 and profile 3 but just saw one network interface in ‘ip a’ output.

# atcmd 'AT+cgpaddr'
smd port: /dev/smd11, at cmd: AT+cgpaddr

AT+cgpaddr
+CGPADDR: 1,"10.26.27.215"
+CGPADDR: 2,
+CGPADDR: 3,"10.26.130.120"
+CGPADDR: 4,
+CGPADDR: 5,

OK# atcmd 'AT+CGACT?'
smd port: /dev/smd11, at cmd: AT+CGACT?

AT+CGACT?
+CGACT: 1,1
+CGACT: 2,0
+CGACT: 3,1
+CGACT: 4,0
+CGACT: 5,0

7: rmnet_data0@rmnet_ipa0: <UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 1900 qdisc mq state UNKNOWN group default qlen 1000
    link/[519]
    inet 10.26.27.215/28 scope global rmnet_data0
       valid_lft forever preferred_lft forever
8: rmnet_data1@rmnet_ipa0: <> mtu 1900 qdisc mq state DOWN group default qlen 1000
    link/[519]
9: rmnet_data2@rmnet_ipa0: <UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 1500 qdisc mq state UNKNOWN group default qlen 1000
    link/[519]

Try to disable interface data0 but data1 is not like to profile 3, it stills on profile1

# ip link set rmnet_data0 down

# [ 6977.727024] QCMAP: Modem in service NAS indication received on sub0
[ 6977.748191] QCMAP:bringup v4
[ 6978.010328] QCMAP:WAN connected v4 on sub id:0 profile:1

# ip a

7: rmnet_data0@rmnet_ipa0: <> mtu 1900 qdisc mq state DOWN group default qlen 1000
    link/[519]
8: rmnet_data1@rmnet_ipa0: <UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 1900 qdisc mq state UNKNOWN group default qlen 1000
    link/[519]
    inet 10.26.27.215/28 scope global rmnet_data1
       valid_lft forever preferred_lft forever
9: rmnet_data2@rmnet_ipa0: <UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 1500 qdisc mq state UNKNOWN group default qlen 1000

Still need your help on this post. Is there any document related to using multiPDN?

If you have the Quectel Open module, Quectel would recommend you try the Quectel API to set up data connection but not with the AT command.

rmnet_dataX is the virtual network interface from the modem side.

Hi Bean.Wang-Q, is there any detailed document for Quectel API? Please share me.
