Hi! We’re working on an Arduino library for LG580P, which supports a second antenna. We are particularly interested in supporting new messages that involve the second antenna: PQTMTAR, PQTMRMC, PQTMGSV.
To enable PQTMTAR and PQTMGSV, we discovered that we can use PQTMCFGMSGRATE. (Note that this is not documented for PQTMGSV but it works.)
However PQTMCFGMSGRATE does not seem to work with PQTMRMC. How does one enable the PQTMRMC message?

PQTMCFGMSGRATE with PQTMRMC and MsgVer=(0..9) doesn’t work.
I’m very interested in your second post. It seems you are showing a dump of the BETA1017 binary and this shows that the string PQTMRMC is no found anywhere? And this suggests that maybe this message is not yet supported, at least in this version? Very good analysis! Thanks!

Hi Mikalhart, Bamarcant,
RMC and GSV are standard NMEA protocol. Thus there is no PQTMRMC or PQTMGSV defined. For standard NMEA protocol, the talker ID is always composed of 2 letters.
GGA, GSA, VTG, GLL, ZDA … etc are also follow the rules above. It isn’t related to any firmware.
PQTM is proprietary protocol that only supported by Quectel GNSS modules.

The current firmware LG580P03AANR01A04S_SH is the latest version for LG580P, i will send you the latest version once available.
For the RMC after giving command $PQTMCFGMSGRATE,W,RMC ,1 * 37, try $PQTMSAVEPAR *5A and reboot module.

Sorry I didn’t have a LG580P03 before. Now I have it.
Yes. LG580P supports PQTMGSV and PQTMGSA on LG580P03AANR01A04S_SH. While PQTMRMC or PQTMGGA are not supported. LG580P gives the PVT (position, velocity, time) basing on master antenna (ANT 1). If you connect only salve antenna (ANT 2), it can not get basic position fixed.
Enable them by $PQTMCFGMSGRATE,W,PQTMGSV,1,2*0F
$PQTMCFGMSGRATE,W,PQTMGSA,1,2*18

Please clarify, because the Protocol Specification shows it in the example on p 102 (Section 2.3.57). Is the document in error? Or is this planned for the future?
