I have encountered the same situation as stated and I have refered to the pdf that you had given. I have used SSCOM(used under windows) to run AT commands as given by Waveshare website. RM500Q-GL 5G HAT - Waveshare Wiki
However, when i give commands associated with AT+QCRMTOOL , SSCOM said error.
May i know how to configure the RM502Q-AE module to give a cellular network?

Here it is.
I didn’t use AT+QCRMTOOL as it will appears error in SSOCOM. I have use the 3 commands “AT+QENG=“servingcell”, AT+QCFG=“usbnet”,2 , AT+CFUN=1,1” to dail up the internet.
I actually can see the cellular internet whenever I connect the module to my laptop using USB(As the image shown below) , it’s just that it will disappear after serveral seconds and then appear again(seens like not very stable).

If you already have set it mbim mode,
please update the driver to Mobile Broadband Interface Model.
Open the device manager, right click the Quectel wireless ethernet Adapter, choose the “Update Driver”.
The device disapper again and again is because that it match the wrong driver.

However, it said the driver is already updated to the lastest version when i trying to update Quectel Wireless Ethernet Adapter #3.
And when i conducted a network diagonosis to the cellular network, here is the result. It seems like the network adapter for cellullar network 3 is not running, they can not assign the ip to the adapter.

I have already set it but when i trying to activate it, it appears error.
That means you cannot active it with that APN.
Please check:
Whether it is a valid apn?
Maybe it was rejected by the operater/internet provider.

I have tried but it said can’t find the apn.
I am quite sure that the sim card have data plans and I have already set the apn using AT+CGDCONT and activate it also.
I think it’s beacuse the apn setting is failed.
When i enter AT+CGACT=1,1, it shows CME error: 100
Querry with;
AT+CGACT?
If you cannot see the:
+CGACT: 1,1
it means that with the APN the RM50Q could not set up data call.
