Hello! I recently received an RG520N-EU 5G module from a friend, but I’ve encountered an issue where the SIM card cannot be read. I suspect this may be related to the SIM card detection feature. I attempted to disable SIM detection using the AT+QSIMDET=0,0 command, which returned OK. However, after rebooting the module, issuing the AT+QSIMDET? command again returns 1,0, indicating that the previous AT+QSIMDET=0,0 command did not take effect.
Using the ATI command, I received the following response:
As shown above, the current firmware version is a beta release. I suspect that the inability to read the SIM card and the ineffectiveness of the AT+QSIMDET command might be due to this beta firmware.
Would it be possible for you to provide an official release firmware version for the RG520N-EU? I would like to try updating the module to see if it resolves the SIM card detection issue.
If possible, please send the firmware to my email address: lizi@linux.do.
I would greatly appreciate your support.
I tested some other AT commands that are supposed to take effect after a reboot, but it seems none of the changes are being saved or applied after restarting the module.
Can anyone help me with this issue?
Yes, I’m willing to try the open firmware solution. Since the current beta firmware version does not function properly and cannot read the SIM card, I’d like to try any available alternative that may resolve the issue — including the open firmware.
Please kindly share the open firmware package and any related instructions if available.
Just following up on my firmware request for the RG520N-EU module. I’m still experiencing issues with the current beta version (RG520NEUDGR01A01M8G_OCPU_BETA_20230113A), especially with SIM detection.Looking forward to your reply.

Hello,
I’m using a Quectel RG520N-EU (Firmware: RG520NEUDGR01A03M8G).
4G works fine, but 5G NSA cannot connect.
Could this be a firmware issue? How can I get the latest firmware?

Thanks!
