EM061K-GL firmware + official flashing instructions

Hi,

I have a Quectel EM061K-GL (M.2 Key-B) module and I’d like to update it to the latest generic, non-OEM firmware.

Module info:

Model: EM061K-GL
Current firmware (from host): EM061KGLAAR01A02M2G
USB IDs: VID 2C7C / PID 6008
Usage:
Windows 10 laptop via a USB M.2 Key-B WWAN adapter with SIM slot
Linux SBC (Radxa ROCK 5B+) in the **M.2 Key-B slot with a board SIM socket

Symptoms

On Windows: shows as a Generic Mobile Broadband Adapter, but fails with Code 10 (device cannot start)and there is no Mobile Broadband interface in netsh mbn.
On Linux: detected as cdc_mbim / wwan0, but mbimcli --query-subscriber-ready-status reports sim-not-inserted, even though the SIM works fine in a phone.

Could you please provide:

The recommended latest generic firmware image for EM061K-GL and any official flashing tool and brief procedure for updating / recovering this module over USB (DM / QDLoader). I’m trying to reflash to the latest generic EM061K-GL firmware and get the official Quectel tool + step-by-step procedure for updating / recovering this module over USB (DM / QDLoader), including any required USB-composition settings.

Thanks for you help.

Kind regards, Martin.

Hello! Can You please also send to me? Newest generic firmware and all tools and instructions on how to flash, thanks!

Model: Quectel EM061K-GL
Firmware: EM061KGLAAR01A02M2G
USB ID: VID 2C7C / PID 6008

Hi @aghelan_loga,

Could you please send me the same, latest generic EM061K-GL firmware, the flashing tool, and the flashing procedure, to my email as well?

My module (currently on EM061KGLAAR01A02M2G) is in a Linux setup and has ended up in a USB composition that exposes only ECM + GPS, no AT, DIAG, or MBIM port. With no AT port I can’t reconfigure it back over USB, and this carrier board has no UART routed to the M.2 socket, so a full reflash looks like my only recovery path.

Could you also confirm:

  1. Whether the procedure you send covers recovering a module that has no AT port (i.e. forcing EDL / 9008 mode), and

  2. The on-card test points or pins to force EDL on the EM061K-GL, since I have no UART access.

Thanks very much!

Regards,

Hi,

can you be so kind to send me the firmware too?

Thank you very much

Hello, I’d like to request the same for my EM061K-GL (M.2 Key-B, current firmware EM061KGLAAR01A02M2G, USB 2C7C:6008).

My module got stuck after AT+QCFG=“usbnet”,0: it now enumerates a malformed composition with no AT/DM port, QMI times out, and DIAG doesn’t respond — so I can’t switch it back to MBIM the normal way. Could you please email me:

  1. The latest generic EM061K-GL firmware (firehose package),
  2. The official flashing tool (QFlash / QFirehose), and
  3. The EDL / QDLoader (9008) recovery procedure, since the normal DM-port method isn’t available to me.

Thank you!
